SpaceX launched its Starship spacecraft from Texas on its 14th test flight, with the mission intended to last about 10 hours and send the vehicle around Earth six times. 

The uncrewed spacecraft lost one of its engines shortly after liftoff but was still able to perform an orbital burn using a single remaining Raptor engine and reach orbit for the first time. 

Starship also successfully deployed 26 Starlink satellites during the flight, marking another major test of the spacecraft’s capabilities. 

SpaceX ended the mission earlier than originally planned, with Starship splashing down in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii after several hours in flight, Fox Business has reported.

The flight represents a significant step in SpaceX’s development of Starship, which NASA plans to use as a lunar lander for future astronauts and which SpaceX ultimately hopes to use for crewed missions to Mars.
