Poland arrests man over plot to kill PM Donald Tusk

Polish authorities detained a man accused of plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, Tusk announced Sunday.

Tusk praised police for their swift response, while the interior minister also confirmed the arrest.

The detention followed an emergency meeting of Poland’s security services after police received a tip about a possible assassination attempt.

Officials have not released the suspect’s identity or provided details about the nature of the alleged plot, the DW has reported.

The arrest comes as Poland remains on heightened alert following violent incidents at schools and growing concerns about suspected Russian hybrid attacks targeting European countries.
