Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter CEO, Elon Musk on Monday recommended independent-minded voters to cast their ballots for the Republicans in Tuesday’s midterm congressional races as a check on the Executive branches authority.
- THE HILL – “To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,” Musk wrote on Twitter.
- NEW YORK POST – “Hardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who actually decide who’s in charge!” Musk added.
- FOX NEWS – Musk’s announcement comes months after he first announced plans to vote Republican earlier this year. He argued Monday that having a government split between two parties is ideal, and noted President Biden’s possession of the White House for Democrats before saying Congress should go to Repubilicans.
- REUTERS – Musk frequently comments on U.S. politics. He said previously that he was leaning towards supporting Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis for president in 2024 and that former president Donald Trump was too old to serve as president again.
