Scientists Detect Signs of Hidden Structure Inside Earth’s Core

Scientists have detected signs of a hidden structure inside Earth’s core using a new method that combines seismic data with machine learning algorithms.

The study analyzed data from thousands of earthquakes to create a three-dimensional picture of the core and found evidence of a distinct zone at the boundary between the inner and outer core.

The researchers believe this zone could be composed of a different type of material or have a different temperature and could help explain some of the mysteries of Earth’s magnetic field. However, more research is needed to confirm the existence and properties of this hidden structure.
