Russian President Vladimir Putin told Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday that Moscow was willing to help bring an end to the war in Iran.
During talks in Turkmenistan, Putin praised Iran’s efforts to end the conflict and said the war had not been caused by Tehran.
Putin also pointed to improving relations between Russia and Iran as the two countries discussed the ongoing crisis.
The meeting came as diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States continued amid growing regional tensions, Fox News has reported.
President Donald Trump said Thursday that productive discussions with Iran were still underway, raising hopes for a possible diplomatic resolution.
