According to authorities, a man in Florida allegedly slapped his wife in the face with a slice of pizza during an argument in their home. The police responded to a “911 hang-up” call at the Marion County residence on Friday afternoon.
Ortelio Alfonso, 39, told officers that he had a “verbal altercation” with his spouse. However, the victim claimed that the argument became violent, and Alfonso “grabbed a slice of pizza and slapped her in the left side of her face with it” during the dispute over disciplining their son.
When the police arrived, they observed pizza sauce on the woman’s shirt, hair, and ear area, and on the walls and ceiling of the kitchen, the Smoking Gun is reporting.
Alfonso was handcuffed, read his rights, and admitted to striking the victim “with the slice of pizza in the face,” but said that he did not physically hit her with his hands, only with the pizza.
Alfonso was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor battery before being transported to the county jail. He was released on Saturday. Alfonso resides in an Ocala suburb and is employed by a landscaping company. He is slated to appear in court on March 29.
