The 76-year-old former President Trump has returned to New York City. He arrived on Wednesday night in advance of his scheduled deposition on Thursday morning in the $250 million business fraud lawsuit filed against him and his company by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Trump’s return to the city comes after being arraigned in a Manhattan court last week on a 34-count indictment in a separate criminal case brought by District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, to which he pleaded not guilty, the New York Post reported.
During his second round of questioning by James, Trump is expected to face intense scrutiny over allegations of wrongdoing by the Trump Organization, including accusations of misleading banks and others by inflating the value of golf courses and hotels that bear his name.
According to sources from multiple agencies who previously spoke to The Post, former President Trump is expected to plead the Fifth on Thursday when he is questioned in the $250 million business fraud lawsuit brought against him and his company by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
This is similar to when he was first questioned in the case last year and invoked the Fifth more than 400 times. James, a Democrat who Trump has criticized for her investigation, is seeking to block him from doing business in the state and is asking for $250 million from his business.
