Within the job description’s “Major Duties” section, potential applicants are duly informed that they must be willing to employ force, including the potential use of lethal force, when necessary.
The IRS is actively seeking armed agents in every state, encompassing a broad range of locations. For instance, California has 18 available sites, Florida has 13 sites, New York has 13 sites, Arizona has five sites, and Wisconsin has four sites where armed agents are being recruited.
As part of the Inflation Reduction Act, Congressional Democrats and President Biden allocated $80 billion in taxpayer funding to the IRS.
In an April 6 spending outline released by the IRS, it was revealed that the agency aims to hire 87,000 employees over the course of the next ten years.
It’s worth noting that not all of these hires will be individuals equipped solely with calculators, as the agency seeks to diversify its workforce to fulfill a range of roles and responsibilities.
