Trump campaign calls for earlier and more presidential debates

The Trump campaign sent a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates, urging for an earlier start and more debates for the upcoming general election.

Campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita emphasized the need for debates to align with the earlier start of voting in recent elections.

They stated Trump’s willingness to debate anytime, anywhere. The first debate is scheduled for September 16, earlier than past elections.

This move follows a joint letter from major US television networks urging both Trump and Biden to commit to televised debates, CNN reported.

Republican National Committee officials also weighed in, criticizing the current debate schedule for occurring after millions have already voted.

Biden has not publicly committed to debating Trump, citing concerns about Trump’s behavior.
