Israeli strikes in Syria kill at least 25, war monitor says

Israeli jets launched a major strike on Syria, killing at least 25 people, mainly targeting a military research center in Masyaf linked to Syria’s chemical and missile programs.

Explosions were also reported in Damascus, Homs, and Tartus. Syrian state media reported 16 dead and 40 wounded.

The strikes targeted pro-Iranian militias and a “scientific research facility” run by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. This attack was described as one of the most violent in years.

Israel frequently targets Iranian-backed groups in Syria but rarely comments on these operations, The Guardian has reported.

The Syrian government condemned the strikes as aggression, while Iran also strongly criticized the attack.
