President Donald Trump will participate in the “America Reads the Bible” event by reading a passage from 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 during a week-long national scripture reading tied to the U.S. 250th anniversary.

The pre-recorded reading will be streamed online from the Oval Office on April 21.

The initiative is described as a national spiritual celebration aimed at promoting faith and American founding ideals.

Trump said the event is meant to “honor Holy Scripture” and encourage a religious renewal in the United States, the USA Today has reported.

His participation comes amid recent public tensions involving comments exchanged with Pope Leo XIV over an AI-generated image.
