Russia launched a third consecutive day of massive drone and missile attacks on Ukraine, killing at least nine people in Kyiv after a nine-story apartment building collapsed.
Among the victims was a 12-year-old girl, while dozens more were injured and around 20 people were reported missing.
Ukrainian officials said more than 1,560 drones and multiple ballistic and cruise missiles had struck cities across the country since Wednesday, damaging about 180 sites, including over 50 residential buildings.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha linked the attacks to ongoing global diplomacy, urging President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war, NPR has reported.
Following the strikes, Vitali Klitschko declared a day of mourning in Kyiv, while the United Kingdom announced faster deliveries of air defense systems to Ukraine.
