Five Chicago police officers were injured early Sunday when they were struck by a car while dispersing a large crowd on the city’s west side.
Police said the vehicle was driving the wrong way, mounted a curb, and hit the officers before crashing into a patrol car, a utility pole, and a fence.
An 18-year-old driver was arrested at the scene, and authorities said a weapon was recovered from the vehicle.
All five officers were taken to hospitals and reported to be in fair condition, with no other injuries reported, NBC News has reported.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges against the driver are pending.
