Rep. Thomas Massie filed paperwork for a 2028 congressional run in Kentucky’s 4th District just days after losing the Republican primary, though he says he has not made a final decision about running again.
He said the filing allows him to continue raising funds and keep his political options open.
Massie indicated he may also consider other offices, including local positions, and emphasized staying active in politics at the grassroots level.
He made the comments after suggesting in a TV interview that he is keeping all possibilities open for future races, WLWT 5 NBC News has reported.
His recent primary loss came to Ed Gallrein, who was backed by President Donald Trump in a highly competitive and expensive race.
