A San Francisco startup, Foundation Future Industries, is developing humanoid robots designed for both industrial use and military applications, setting it apart from other Silicon Valley robotics firms.
The company, which has ties to the Trump family, says its “dual-use” robots are intended for dangerous tasks that could replace risky human labor.
Early versions of the robots are already being tested in Ukraine for potential use in the war against Russia.
CEO Sankaet Pathak says the goal is to deploy robots where they can have the greatest benefit by reducing human exposure to hazardous work, CNBC has reported.
The company plans to scale production rapidly and begin testing with the U.S. military within the next 18 months, reflecting growing links between robotics, AI, and national security.
