Nick Reiner, son of filmmaker Rob Reiner, is seeking access to a $1.5 million trust fund set up by his parents while he faces murder charges in their deaths.
Court documents say the trust was meant to provide him funds starting at age 30, but he claims he has been unable to access it since his arrest in December.
Reiner has pleaded not guilty to allegedly stabbing his parents, Rob and Michele Singer Reiner, at their Los Angeles home.
His lawyers argue the trust payments are mandatory and were intended for his support, including legal expenses, the AFP has reported.
The case remains ongoing, with Reiner still in custody and awaiting further court proceedings.
