Ukraine launched one of its largest drone attacks on Russia since the war began, striking the Moscow Oil Refinery for the second time in a week and disrupting flights at several Moscow airports.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack was retaliation for recent Russian strikes on Kyiv and warned that “Moscow will burn” if attacks on Ukraine continue.
Russian officials said air defenses shot down 555 Ukrainian drones overnight, while fires and damage were reported at oil, industrial, commercial, and residential sites around Moscow.
Ukraine has increasingly targeted Russian oil facilities and supply lines, aiming to weaken Russia’s war effort and pressure the Russian public, CBS News has reported.
The attack came as Zelenskyy reported new support from G7 leaders and held talks with U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron about Ukraine’s defense and diplomatic efforts.
