President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani are scheduled to meet Monday at Gracie Mansion to discuss issues affecting New York City and its residents.

The meeting follows a previous White House meeting in which Mamdani said they discussed the possibility of building more housing in New York City.

Although Trump and Mamdani belong to different political factions, their recent interactions have been notably cordial after Trump previously criticized Mamdani during his mayoral campaign.

Trump later expressed support for Mamdani’s efforts as mayor, saying that Mamdani’s success would benefit New York City, The Hill has reported.

Since Mamdani’s election, democratic socialist and left-leaning candidates have won several Democratic primaries around the country, while Mamdani has become a prominent national Democratic figure and a target of criticism from conservatives.
