Six Flags Over Georgia Goliath death: Witness describes tragic fall

Hassan Karim, 42, died Monday after being ejected from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, according to witnesses who saw him fall from the ride near the end of its course.

Karim was visiting the amusement park with his partner and her family, and his niece was riding with him but was not injured.

He worked as a teacher and information technology professional at Wesley International Academy in Atlanta, and his family remembered him as a passionate educator who loved cooking, technology and spending time with loved ones.

The family has asked people to remove videos and images of the incident from social media, saying they are adding to their grief, Fox 5 Atlanta has reported.

Following the fatal accident, Six Flags temporarily closed nine similar roller coasters across the United States and Canada while Georgia authorities conduct an extensive investigation into what happened.
