Six people, including five adults and a child, were killed Tuesday night when a Piper PA-46 small plane crashed into a wooded area in Sauk County, Wisconsin.
The aircraft was returning from Kenosha to Menomonie when it went down near Park Lane in the Town of Dellona, with emergency crews locating the wreckage around 9:31 p.m.
Authorities confirmed that all six occupants died at the scene, but their identities have not yet been released.
Investigators are examining the plane’s communications with air traffic control before the crash and whether weather conditions contributed to the accident, Fox News has reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and will investigate the cause, while authorities confirmed that no buildings were damaged and no one on the ground was injured.
