As per one of the several leaked documents available online, it has been confirmed that the UK is among a group of nations whose military special forces are presently operating within Ukraine.

This information has been a topic of hushed speculation for more than a year, the BBC reported.

These leaked files, including some marked “top secret”, provide a comprehensive view of the conflict in Ukraine, containing sensitive details about the country’s preparation for an upcoming counter-offensive in the spring season.

The US government is investigating the origin of this leak, as reported by the BBC.

According to the leaked document dated 23 March, the UK has the largest group of special forces personnel (50) in Ukraine, followed by Latvia (17), France (15), the US (14), and the Netherlands (1), all of whom are NATO members.

The document does not disclose the location of the forces or the nature of their operations.

While the number of personnel may seem small, special forces are incredibly effective, and their presence in Ukraine is likely to be exploited by Moscow, which has recently claimed that it is battling not only with Ukraine but also with NATO.
