CNN fires Don Lemon & Fox News fires Tucker Carlson

The anchor of CNN, Don Lemon, who has been facing controversies, announced on Monday that he has been fired. Lemon took to Twitter to post a statement expressing his surprise at the decision and his frustration at not being directly informed.

In his tweet, Lemon stated that his agent had informed him earlier that day of his termination by CNN. He described himself as “stunned” by the news, Fox News reported.

Meanwhile, in a surprising declaration on Monday, Fox News announced that it has ended its affiliation with Tucker Carlson, the host of the network’s popular 8 pm show.

The announcement of Carlson’s departure appeared sudden and unexpected, CNN reported.

Despite being embroiled in various controversies recently, Don Lemon, who had been associated with CNN for 17 years, did not anticipate his departure from the network.

In a memo, CNN CEO Chris Licht informed staff that Don Lemon and CNN had separated.

Licht expressed gratitude to Lemon for his 17-year service and noted that he would always be regarded as a member of the CNN family. He also conveyed CNN’s well wishes and pledged support for Lemon’s future pursuits, Fox News reported.

Tucker Carlson was a key figure in Dominion Voting Systems’ mammoth defamation lawsuit against Fox News, which the parties settled last week on the brink of trial for a historic $787 million, as reported by CNN.
