Former President Donald Trump’s gun permit will be revoked by the NYPD following his recent conviction on 34 felony counts in Manhattan, sources informed ABC News.
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon is a federal offense. Trump’s permit was initially suspended after he was indicted last year by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.
On May 30, he was found guilty of falsifying business records in a case related to a payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Trump plans to appeal the decision, with sentencing scheduled for July. The timing of the permit revocation by the NYPD remains unclear, ABC News reported.
Despite losing his permit, Trump will still be under the protection of the Secret Service.
He faces further legal challenges, including federal charges related to the 2020 election and state charges in Fulton County, Georgia, all of which he denies.
