According to police, on Wednesday, a man opened fire in the waiting room of a medical facility in Atlanta, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to four others.

The 24-year-old suspect, Deion Patterson, was being hunted by the authorities in Atlanta’s bustling midtown neighborhood, where the Northside Medical building is situated, the Associated Press reported.

The Atlanta Police Department declared Patterson as armed and dangerous and requested anyone with information about his location to call 911 instead of approaching him.

Chief Darin Schierbaum of the Atlanta Police Department informed reporters that all the victims were women, aged between 25 and 71 years old.

A 39-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene, while the injured victims were struggling for their lives at Grady Hospital.

Patterson’s family is reportedly cooperating with the police investigation.
