On Thursday at approximately 11:30 PM, a 31-year-old Google engineer, whose name has not been released, leaped from the 14th floor of the 15-story company headquarters building in New York City and has since passed away.
Following multiple reports to the police, authorities discovered the Google engineer unconscious on the 14th floor of the company’s New York City headquarters, the Daily Sun reported.
The engineer was immediately transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to The Daily Mail.
Handprints were found by officers on the ledge of the 14th floor, and it was noted that an open-air terrace was located in the vicinity.
Authorities have not discovered any notes left by the engineer at the location from where he jumped to his death.
This incident follows the death of another Google employee, Jacob Pratt, who was found deceased in his Manhattan apartment earlier this year.
Pratt appeared to have taken his own life by hanging himself in February.
He had been a partnership leader at Google for a year and a half, starting in May 2019, as indicated by his LinkedIn profile.
