House Republicans are pressing Attorney General Merrick Garland to disclose whether the Justice Department has initiated an investigation into whistleblowers who revealed information about the Biden family.
The inquiry into the DOJ’s actions mirrors the ongoing House impeachment inquiry examining President Joe Biden and his family’s involvement in their business dealings.
Judiciary Committee chair Jim Jordan, Oversight Committee chair James Comer, and Ways and Means Committee chair Jason Smith wrote to Garland, emphasizing the importance of protecting whistleblowers from retaliation and expressing concerns about potential misuse of government power.
The whistleblowers disclosed politically sensitive information, including allegations of interference in investigations related to Joe and Hunter Biden.
Hunter Biden’s lawyers reportedly urged the DOJ to prosecute the IRS whistleblowers after their disclosures to Congress, Breitbart News reported.
The House investigation into the Bidens began in November 2022 and uncovered significant financial transactions involving foreign nationals and family members.
