The trial of Bryan Kohberger, accused of murdering four University of Idaho students in 2022, will be moved out of Latah County due to concerns of jury bias from intense local media coverage, a judge ruled.
The new location has not been specified, but the decision was based on “presumed prejudice” and the county’s limited resources for handling the high-profile case.
Defense experts argued that potential jurors in Latah County would likely have biased views, citing survey responses suggesting hostility toward Kohberger, NBC News has reported.
The trial, set for June 2024, may last three months, with prosecutors seeking the death penalty if Kohberger is convicted.
