Fulton County to file motion after FBI seizes 2020 election ballots

Fulton County plans to challenge the FBI’s recent seizure of 2020 election records, calling the search “unprecedented and improper.”

The FBI executed a warrant on Jan. 28 at the county’s Elections Hub, taking hundreds of boxes of ballots, voter rolls, ballot images, and other records.

County Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. said the warrant exceeded its authorized scope, as agents were allowed to copy records but instead removed originals without a proper chain-of-custody inventory.

Fulton County seeks to keep the materials in Georgia under seal, conduct forensic accounting, and protect sensitive voter information, CBS News has reported.

The seizure, part of a broader federal investigation citing potential voter intimidation and election record violations, has drawn national attention and criticism, while the county has complied with the warrant but plans legal action.
