Five people, including three University of Iowa students, were injured in a shooting near the campus in Iowa City early Sunday after a reported large fight escalated.

One victim is in critical condition while the others have been stabilized, according to officials.

Police said the incident began in downtown Iowa City and that officers heard gunfire when they arrived at the scene.

No arrests have been made, but investigators are reviewing security footage and have identified several people of interest, NBC News has reported.
