Rudy Giuliani, former New York mayor and Trump lawyer, hospitalized in critical condition

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 81, is in “critical but stable condition” in a Florida hospital, according to his spokesman, who did not disclose the cause of hospitalization.

Giuliani, who previously served as a federal prosecutor and later as Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, had recently hosted his online show where he sounded hoarse and mentioned he was unwell.

His spokesman described him as “fighting” and asked the public to pray for him.

Giuliani was mayor of New York from 1994 to 2001 and became widely known for his leadership after the September 11 attacks, CNBC has reported.

In recent years, he has faced legal troubles related to efforts to challenge the 2020 U.S. election results and has been disbarred in New York and Washington, D.C.
