Multiple people were killed and a police officer was wounded during a domestic violence incident in Sandy, Oregon, on Sunday.
Officers responding to reports of a shooting and disturbance came under gunfire and returned fire.
One officer was shot multiple times but is hospitalized in stable condition and expected to survive.
The suspect barricaded inside the home for several hours before surrendering around 8 p.m., allowing officials to lift a shelter-in-place order, ABC News has reported.
Authorities have not released the number or identities of the victims as the investigation continues.
