Three police officers were injured and a 57-year-old suspect was killed in a shooting late Saturday night in West Philadelphia.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at a vehicle and encountered Eric Franks, who allegedly became agitated during questioning.

Police said Franks pushed an officer and then drew a firearm, prompting officers to exchange gunfire with him.

Four officers discharged their weapons, and Franks was fatally shot at the scene, UPI has reported.

The injured officers were taken to hospital in stable condition, and authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
