Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, was kidnapped from her Tucson home in early February, prompting a major investigation.
Authorities received ransom notes, including one demanding cryptocurrency and a second claiming she had died shortly after the abduction and was buried in a remote area.
The FBI and investigators have treated the messages as potentially credible and attempted to trace their origins.
Despite early evidence such as doorbell camera footage of a masked suspect, Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts and the identity of the kidnapper remain unknown, ABC News has reported.
Her family continues to plead for information, saying they still have no answers about her fate.
