Five members of a Utah family were killed after a flash flood swept through a canyon during a hiking trip near Bicknell, Utah.
The victims were Provo Fire Captain Spencer Long, his wife Katrina, and their three sons, while their daughter, who was not on the trip, survived.
Authorities believe heavy rains caused the flooding that overwhelmed the family at Sunglow Campground.
Rescue crews recovered the victims’ bodies Friday night and Saturday as the community mourned the loss, the AP has reported.
Friends, family, and colleagues shared tributes honoring the family’s kindness, dedication, and strong community ties.
