Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial began after she was accused of killing her three children in Massachusetts in 2023.

Prosecutors argue that Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, planned the killings and should be held fully responsible.

Her defense says she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, a severe mental illness linked to childbirth that impaired her ability to understand her actions.

Clancy had previously sought treatment for postpartum mental health issues and was hospitalized before the deaths, ABC News has reported.

The trial will determine whether she is guilty of murder or not criminally responsible due to her mental state.
