Police in Arizona have released two ransom notes in hopes the public can help identify the person responsible for the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC host Savannah Guthrie.

One note demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin, while a second claimed Nancy died shortly after being abducted, though authorities have not confirmed her death.

Investigators believe the 84-year-old was taken against her will from her Tucson-area home in January, but no suspects have been arrested.

Officials say the notes contain unique writing patterns that could help someone recognize the author, the BBC has reported.

The investigation remains active as authorities continue searching for answers and asking the public for assistance.
