Two women have been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the first-degree murder of Sam Nordquist, a 24-year-old transgender man who was tortured and killed in New York in 2025.

Precious Arzuaga, whom prosecutors described as the ringleader, pleaded guilty to murder and 10 other charges, while Jennifer Quijano also pleaded guilty to multiple offenses.

Prosecutors said Nordquist endured weeks of severe physical and psychological abuse before his body was abandoned in a field.

Authorities said Arzuaga and Quijano also coerced Arzuaga’s two young children into participating in the abuse, ABC News has reported.

Several other people have been charged in the case, with some having pleaded guilty while trials for others are expected next year.
