A woman’s body was found in eastern Johannesburg, where several other women have been found dead in recent months, prompting fears of a possible serial killer.

South African police said the cases appear to have similarities but have not confirmed that they were committed by the same person.

Authorities have warned women to exercise caution, particularly while jogging in the affected areas, as investigations continue.

The latest discoveries include bodies found in Kwa-Thema, Olifantsontein, and a 38-year-old woman who disappeared while jogging in Kempton Park, CBS News has reported.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has ordered police to prioritize the investigations and determine whether the deaths are connected and who is responsible.
