Law enforcement agents apprehended Francisco Oropesa, 38, on Tuesday for allegedly using an AR-15 rifle to kill five of his neighbors in their Texas home, NBC News reported.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that Oropesa was taken into custody without incident around 7 p.m. in Cut and Shoot, Texas, as confirmed by San Jacinto County District Attorney Todd Dillon.
Although Dillon had initially indicated that fingerprints were needed to confirm the suspect’s identity, Oropesa has since been charged with first-degree murder and taken to Montgomery County Jail.
He is expected to be transferred to San Jacinto County Jail, where he will be held on a $5 million bond, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.
