Israel Secretly Targets U.S. Lawmakers With Influence Campaign on Gaza War

srael’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs funded a covert influence campaign targeting U.S. lawmakers and the American public with pro-Israel messaging during the Gaza war, officials and documents reveal.

The $2 million operation, carried out by Tel Aviv-based firm Stoic, used hundreds of fake accounts on X, Facebook, and Instagram to pose as Americans and promote support for Israel, particularly targeting Black Democratic lawmakers like Representative Hakeem Jeffries and Senator Raphael Warnock.

The campaign, which included fake news sites and AI-generated posts, aimed to sway U.S. opinion and support for Israel’s military actions, DNYUZ has reported.

Despite the extensive effort, the campaign had limited impact, as many of the accounts were identified and removed by Meta and OpenAI.
