Tropical Storm Jerry moved through the Atlantic toward the Leeward Islands as Tropical Storms Priscilla and Raymond tracked along Mexico’s Pacific coast, bringing risks of heavy rain and flooding.
Raymond, located about 85 miles south-southeast of Zihuatanejo, Mexico, had sustained winds of 45 mph and was moving west-northwest at 15 mph.
Priscilla threatens flash flooding in the U.S. Southwest through the weekend, while Subtropical Storm Karen formed far from land in the North Atlantic with winds of 45 mph.
An unnamed storm off the U.S. Southeast, combined with unusually high King Tides, may cause coastal flooding in areas like the North Carolina Outer Banks and Charleston, South Carolina, NBC News has reported.
Meteorologists noted that the return of the Pacific cooling pattern La Niña could influence global weather, potentially worsening rainfall, drought, and hurricane activity.
