A person walking a dog in Memphis discovered what appeared to be a human skull in early March, leading police to the remains of three young children.
Authorities believe the children, estimated to be between three and seven years old, had been dead for several years.
The remains were found in a wooded area of Hickory Hill, and investigators are working to determine their identities and cause of death.
About 170 personnel, including the FBI, are involved in the ongoing search and investigation, ABC 7 News has reported.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
