A Houston restaurateur and former pharmaceutical CEO, Matthew Mitchell, 52, allegedly killed his pregnant wife and two children before taking his own life in a suspected murder-suicide.

The family was found dead in their River Oaks home by a babysitter on Monday evening.

Authorities believe Mitchell shot his wife and children, including an 8-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son, before killing himself.

The children were found in their beds, though the exact timing of the deaths remains unclear, Fox News has reported.

Mitchell and his wife, Thy Mitchell, were prominent business figures who co-owned a Houston restaurant and had backgrounds in pharmaceuticals and corporate leadership.
