Man’s Body Found by Maintenance Worker in Abandoned Grocery Store

A maintenance worker discovered the body of 43-year-old James Connell inside an abandoned Kroger store in metro Atlanta on May 22 while checking for a water leak.

Police responded to the closed grocery store and later charged 34-year-old Micah Deangelo Garner with concealing a death, though no one has been charged in Connell’s killing.

Authorities suspect foul play, but the victim’s cause of death has not been released.

Garner, already in custody on separate misdemeanor charges, is being held without bail, People.com has reported.

Connell’s family expressed grief over his death and urged anyone with information to assist police as the investigation continues.
