A San Francisco police officer is expected to survive after being shot multiple times during a gun battle with robbery suspects Sunday night.
The shooting occurred after officers attempted to stop a vehicle linked to a robbery, leading to a chase that ended in a crash.
Police said the driver opened fire, injuring the officer, while officers returned fire and critically wounded the passenger.
The driver fled on foot but was later arrested, and investigators recovered two firearms, NBC Bay Area has reported.
