Vance Boelter, accused of a deadly 2025 attack on Minnesota lawmakers, is expected to plead guilty to federal charges in court Thursday.
He previously pleaded not guilty to six federal counts, including stalking, murder, and firearms violations tied to the June 14 shootings.
The attack killed former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and wounded state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.
Federal prosecutors have agreed not to seek the death penalty as part of a proposed plea deal, CBS News has reported.
Boelter also faces separate state charges, including first-degree murder and attempted murder, which could result in life in prison without parole.
