NASA’s Roman Space Telescope arrives in Florida ahead of launch this summer

NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope has arrived at Kennedy Space Center in Florida for final testing ahead of its planned launch later this summer on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.

The telescope was transported from Goddard Space Flight Center and will undergo assembly, cleaning, and prelaunch checks in specialized facilities at KSC.

Engineers will test its systems, including solar panels and thermal controls, and load it with hydrazine fuel for long-term operation.

Roman is scheduled to head to a stable orbit at the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 2 about 1 million miles from Earth, where it is expected to operate for at least five years, Space.com has reported.

The mission will focus on studying dark energy and the universe by observing billions of galaxies, exoplanets, and black holes.
