Army sergeant sentenced after shooting 5 soldiers and his male fiancé at Fort Stewart

U.S. Army Sgt. Quornelius S. Radford was sentenced to six consecutive life sentences for a 2024 shooting at Fort Stewart in Georgia in which he attacked his own unit and his fiancé.

Military prosecutors said he shot his fiancé during an argument and then opened fire inside his unit’s offices, injuring five soldiers before being tackled and disarmed.

All six victims survived, though they testified to lasting trauma and asked the court for the maximum punishment.

Radford was also demoted to the lowest rank, dishonorably discharged, and will forfeit all military pay and benefits, Fox News has reported.

Officials called the attack a severe betrayal of military trust, emphasizing that fellow soldiers ultimately prevented further deaths.
