A seaplane carrying 11 people crashed and caught fire on Sucia Island near Washington’s border with Canada, but all passengers were safely rescued.

Nearby boats and a helicopter responded quickly, taking the injured passengers to hospitals for treatment.

Several people suffered head injuries, broken bones, and cuts, though no deaths were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation after videos showed the plane making a hard landing before striking the rocky shoreline, the AP has reported.

The incident occurred less than three weeks after another seaplane accident in New York’s East River that also resulted in injuries.
