1 killed, 4 injured in shooting at park in Kentucky

A shooting at Charles Young Park in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday evening left one person dead and four others injured, police said.

Officers responded just before 7 p.m. and found five victims, with one later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The other four victims suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, and local reports said two children, ages 4 and 14, were among those shot.

Police Chief Lawrence Weathers did not provide information about a suspect but said he did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the public, ABC News has reported.

Authorities urged anyone with information about the shooting or potential concerns about someone using a weapon to contact police.
